Yamaha Outboard Price Match Policy

Taylor Point Boat Yard is committed to providing competitive pricing on new Yamaha outboards. Under this Price Match Policy, eligible customers may request that Taylor Point Boat Yard match a qualifying lower price offered by another authorized Yamaha dealer located within 25 miles of Jamestown, Rhode Island.

This policy is subject to all terms, conditions, exclusions, and verification requirements outlined below.

1. Eligibility

To qualify for a price match, the competing offer must:

  • Be offered by an authorized Yamaha outboard dealer with a physical sales location within a 25-mile radius of Jamestown, Rhode Island.
  • Apply to a new, unused, currently available Yamaha outboard.
  • Be for the exact same Yamaha model and model year.
  • Match the horsepower, shaft length, color, controls, starting system, trim and tilt configuration, steering configuration, and all other factory specifications.
  • Be available for immediate purchase by the customer at the time the price-match request is submitted.
  • Be supported by a current, written, itemized, and verifiable quote or publicly advertised price.
  • Be available to the general public without requiring membership, special affiliation, employee status, or eligibility for a restricted program.
  • Be presented before the customer completes the purchase with Taylor Point Boat Yard.

All eligibility requirements must be satisfied. A similar or comparable outboard does not qualify unless Taylor Point Boat Yard determines that the products and transaction terms are identical.

2. What the Matched Price Must Include

Taylor Point Boat Yard will compare the total eligible transaction price rather than the advertised engine price alone.

The competing quote must clearly identify all applicable charges, including:

  • The outboard engine.
  • Factory-installed equipment.
  • Controls, gauges, harnesses, propellers, rigging components, and accessories.
  • Dealer preparation.
  • Freight, shipping, or destination charges.
  • Installation and rigging labor.
  • Diagnostic or setup charges.
  • Documentation or administrative fees.
  • Delivery charges.
  • Any required purchase of additional products or services.
  • Applicable rebates, incentives, credits, or discounts.

Taxes, registration fees, government charges, financing costs, optional warranties, and unrelated services may be excluded from the comparison at Taylor Point Boat Yard’s discretion.

Taylor Point Boat Yard may adjust the competing price to account for differences in included equipment, installation, freight, preparation, warranties, services, or transaction requirements.

3. Required Documentation

Customers requesting a price match must provide sufficient documentation for Taylor Point Boat Yard to confirm the competing offer.

Acceptable documentation may include:

  • A dated and itemized written dealer quote.
  • A current advertisement.
  • A publicly accessible dealer webpage.
  • An email issued directly by the competing dealer.
  • Other documentation approved by Taylor Point Boat Yard.

The documentation must clearly show:

  • The competing dealer’s name, physical address, and contact information.
  • The date the offer was issued.
  • The exact Yamaha model and specifications.
  • The available inventory status.
  • The complete selling price.
  • All applicable fees, conditions, exclusions, and required purchases.
  • The expiration date of the offer, when applicable.

Screenshots, altered documents, incomplete quotes, verbal statements, handwritten notes, social media comments, customer-created documents, and unverifiable pricing may be rejected.

Taylor Point Boat Yard may contact the competing dealer directly to verify the offer, product availability, pricing, and transaction terms.

4. Geographic Requirement

The competing Yamaha dealer must operate a permanent physical sales location within 25 miles of Jamestown, Rhode Island.

Distance will be determined by Taylor Point Boat Yard using a commonly available online mapping service or another reasonable method selected by Taylor Point Boat Yard.

Online retailers and dealers located outside the qualifying radius are not eligible, even when they offer shipping or delivery within the area.

5. Authorized Yamaha Dealers Only

Price matching is limited to offers from authorized Yamaha outboard dealers.

Offers from private sellers, brokers, marketplaces, unauthorized resellers, wholesalers, distributors, auction platforms, liquidation companies, marine salvage businesses, and other non-authorized sellers are excluded.

Taylor Point Boat Yard may confirm a competing dealer’s authorization status directly with Yamaha or through other available records.

6. Inventory and Availability

The competing outboard must be in stock, available for sale, and capable of being purchased by the customer at the quoted price at the time of verification.

The following do not qualify:

  • Out-of-stock products.
  • Backordered products.
  • Incoming inventory without a confirmed availability date.
  • Special-order units.
  • Reserved or sold units.
  • Pricing contingent upon future availability.
  • Listings that remain online after inventory is no longer available.
  • Offers involving limited quantities that have already been exhausted.

Taylor Point Boat Yard is not required to match pricing for an outboard it does not have available or cannot reasonably obtain.

7. Excluded Offers

The Price Match Policy does not apply to:

  • Used or previously titled outboards.
  • Demonstration, display, loaner, or rental units.
  • Damaged, refurbished, rebuilt, remanufactured, returned, repossessed, or salvage units.
  • Discontinued or obsolete models.
  • Prior-model-year inventory unless Taylor Point Boat Yard is offering the identical model year.
  • Clearance, closeout, liquidation, bankruptcy, going-out-of-business, or distressed inventory pricing.
  • Auction or bidding prices.
  • Typographical, technical, listing, or pricing errors.
  • Mispriced inventory.
  • Employee, dealer, fleet, commercial, government, military, first responder, association, club, or membership pricing.
  • Friends-and-family pricing.
  • Wholesale or volume-purchase pricing.
  • Pricing available only through a manufacturer, distributor, or third-party buying program.
  • Private or individually negotiated offers that cannot be independently verified.
  • Trade-in allowances or values.
  • Bundled boat-and-engine package pricing.
  • Offers requiring the purchase of a boat, trailer, accessories, services, financing, insurance, extended warranty, or other product.
  • Financing incentives, deferred-payment offers, subsidized interest rates, or lender-specific promotions.
  • Manufacturer rebates or incentives for which the customer does not independently qualify.
  • Coupons, gift cards, store credits, loyalty rewards, referral credits, or promotional certificates.
  • Free products or services.
  • Pricing obtained through fraud, misrepresentation, unauthorized disclosure, or misuse of confidential information.
  • Any offer prohibited by Yamaha policies, applicable law, or contractual restrictions.


8. Rebates and Manufacturer Promotions

Manufacturer rebates, promotional allowances, and other incentives may have separate eligibility requirements and expiration dates.

A price match may not be combined with another discount, rebate, incentive, financing promotion, coupon, or special offer unless expressly approved in writing by Taylor Point Boat Yard.

Taylor Point Boat Yard may calculate the matched price after applying any manufacturer incentive available equally through both dealers.

A competitor’s price that includes a rebate or incentive available only to certain customers will be compared using the price for which the requesting customer is actually eligible.

9. Installation, Rigging, and Additional Equipment

A Yamaha outboard purchase may require controls, gauges, wiring, steering components, propellers, batteries, rigging materials, installation labor, boat modifications, or other equipment and services.

These products and services are not included in the matched price.

Installation and rigging requirements vary by vessel. Taylor Point Boat Yard reserves the right to inspect the vessel and provide a separate estimate for all necessary labor, equipment, modifications, and related work.

A price match on an outboard does not grant a price match on installation, rigging, service, storage, hauling, launching, transportation, or accessories.

10. Verification and Approval

All price matches require review and written approval by an authorized Taylor Point Boat Yard representative.

Taylor Point Boat Yard reserves the right to:

  • Verify all submitted information.
  • Contact the competing dealer.
  • Request additional documentation.
  • Confirm inventory availability.
  • Compare the full transaction terms.
  • Correct errors or omissions.
  • Decline requests involving incomplete, inaccurate, expired, misleading, or unverifiable information.
  • Determine whether the products, specifications, and offers are identical.
  • Determine whether an offer qualifies under this policy.

Submission of a request does not guarantee approval.

Taylor Point Boat Yard’s determination regarding eligibility and the amount of any price match will be final, subject to applicable law.

11. Timing of Requests

Price-match requests must be submitted and approved before the sale is finalized.

Requests made after a deposit is submitted, a purchase agreement is signed, the outboard is ordered, installation begins, or the transaction is completed are not eligible unless Taylor Point Boat Yard agrees otherwise in writing.

Taylor Point Boat Yard does not offer retroactive price adjustments under this policy.

12. Deposits and Purchase Requirements

Approval of a price match may be conditioned on the customer:

  • Signing a purchase agreement.
  • Providing a required deposit.
  • Completing the purchase within a specified period.
  • Accepting the same payment, delivery, installation, and transaction terms as the competing offer.
  • Satisfying applicable credit, financing, or identity-verification requirements.

An approved price match may expire if the customer does not complete the required steps by the deadline provided.

Deposits and cancellations remain subject to the terms of the applicable purchase agreement.

13. Limitations

Price matching is limited to one qualifying competing offer per outboard and one price match per customer transaction unless otherwise approved.

This policy applies only to retail purchases for personal or business use and does not apply to resale transactions.

Taylor Point Boat Yard is not obligated to sell an outboard below its cost or when completing the transaction would violate a manufacturer requirement, dealer agreement, applicable law, or other binding obligation.

Nothing in this policy requires Taylor Point Boat Yard to obtain, order, reserve, or transfer inventory.

14. Pricing Errors

Taylor Point Boat Yard is not responsible for typographical, clerical, technical, transmission, website, advertising, or pricing errors.

If an incorrect price is published, quoted, displayed, or communicated, Taylor Point Boat Yard may correct the error and cancel or decline the affected transaction, subject to applicable law.

A competitor’s obvious or suspected pricing error does not qualify for a price match.

15. No Guarantee of Lowest Market Price

Taylor Point Boat Yard strives to offer competitive pricing, but this policy does not guarantee that Taylor Point Boat Yard will have the lowest price available in every market or for every Yamaha outboard.

The policy applies only when a customer submits an eligible competing offer that satisfies all stated requirements.

16. Modification or Termination

Taylor Point Boat Yard may modify, suspend, or discontinue this Price Match Policy at any time without prior notice.

Any modification will apply to requests submitted after the revised policy takes effect. Requests already approved in writing will be handled according to the approval terms, unless otherwise required by law.

The version posted on the Taylor Point Boat Yard website at the time a request is submitted will govern that request.

17. Other Terms

This Price Match Policy supplements, but does not replace, the terms of any quote, estimate, purchase agreement, financing agreement, repair authorization, installation agreement, warranty, or other customer contract.

If this policy conflicts with a signed purchase agreement, the signed purchase agreement will control to the extent permitted by law.

The Yamaha name and trademarks are the property of Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A. Taylor Point Boat Yard’s price-match program is administered solely by Taylor Point Boat Yard and is not necessarily sponsored, administered, or endorsed by Yamaha unless expressly stated otherwise.

18. Governing Law

This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Rhode Island, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Nothing in this policy limits any rights or remedies that cannot legally be waived under applicable consumer-protection law.
